Synopsis
Ailing filmmaker Leonard Fife (Richard Gere), passionate but aware of his age and illness, wants to tell his life story unfiltered before it’s too late. As a respected documentary filmmaker, he has much to be proud of, but his avoidance of the Vietnam War draft and his past relationships contain a thorny truth. Finally determined to uncover the truth and lies in his life and career, Leonard sits down for an extended taped interview with his former student Malcolm (Michael Imperioli) and tells honest stories about his younger self (Jacob Elordi) in the 60s. later. . At Leonard’s insistence, his wife and invaluable companion Emma (Uma Thurman) listens to all this. Leonard’s achievements are met with his failures – fibrin against facts – and once the man is completely cleansed of myths, Leonard must face what remains.
