Synopsis
A grieving therapist begins telling his clients exactly what he thinks

The cast of “Shrinking” share their defining moments from season 1 and reveal who has the best Harrison Ford impression. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to appear on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and would audition people who looked like Ford.

Segel told Goldstein that he had to at least bring it to Ford first, thinking he would immediately turn him down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was being brought on board, generating interest from other top actors. Eventually, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him on the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was thrilled nonetheless.
This is pure and simple fun
Crisp, great writing, just enough pathos to keep it from becoming the Big Bang Theory for the middle classes, a joy to watch. Yes, real therapists wouldn’t act like that, but anyone with a functioning brain cell would know that, so criticism from this perspective is just negativity for the sake of lowering ratings. Are some of the characters stereotypes?
A complete revelation and worth watching the show for him alone
Yes, but don’t get offended and none should be taken, FYI, I worked with a gay guy who was exactly the stereotype shown here. The real success here lies in combining the seriousness of therapy and pain with the growing pains of life at different ages, stages, and walks of life, and making it funny. Finally, who knows what a good light comedy actor Harrison Ford is?
