Synopsis
Ingrid and Martha were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. After years of being disconnected, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation. When Pedro Almodóvar sent the script to Tilda Swinton, he asked her who should play Ingrid.
The story might be good
Featured on The 7PM Project – Episode of September 8, 2024 (2024). But something is totally wrong with the way the movies sound in terms of dialogue. It feels like someone took a proper movie and cut it badly having to leave only the “essential” one-liners.
Instead, each scene seems cut only at its main message
Most of the time the scenes don’t have that opening that makes the culmination feasible and surprising. The dialogues, therefore, feel bitter and sometimes smack of clichés. What could have been powerful moments, just flipped through like a deck of cards.
The ingredients are right
The talent of the actors does not save them. At times it seemed as if the script was written in another language and then translated. But unfortunately the dish tastes bad.
